Today started out as a bummer kind of day. Not for any specific reason, I was just in a bit of a funk. Ever have one of those days?
But all of that quickly changed when I checked my mailbox and found a package that came all way from Belgium!! My sweet friend Anouchka (from lifeofbun) and I have been in contact over the past couple months about doing a swap of products. We were both excited to try affordable products from brands that are not easy to find in our native countries. I had lots of fun shopping for her products! You can see her swap post here.
I felt like a kid at Christmas! My package contained a selection of Catrice eyeshadows, lipsticks and a nail polish. She included a nail polish and eyeliner from essence as well! Her selection of colors was perfect, exactly the kind of colors I would have chosen!
I was so excited that I made a video! 🙂 Click the pic to check it out to see all the wonderful goodies!
Nothing like a sweet friend to brighten up a gloomy day!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you, Anouchka!! I love everything you picked out!! Mwah! 🙂
And just in case you missed that, let’s review: ONE COAT!!! Yes, that glitter polish is really all that and a bag of chips!
These Be Jeweled Wet N Wild polishes came out this past spring and are just beautiful! I featured The Crown is Mine from this same collection in this post. They don’t seem to be easy to find anymore, though so check your drugstores or eBay if you are looking for them.
Two nail posts in a row! I hope you don’t mind, but with it being the 4th of July and all, I just couldn’t resist.
I first saw this design earlier this week on C to C Friendspirations blog and immediately knew I had to try it for myself.
I didn’t have the exact polishes used, so I just worked with what I have.
I should mention that I am not a nail-art-extraordinaire by any means, but this looked easy enough even for a rookie like me.
This is one coat of Sally Hansen Glass Slipper as a base. With Revlon Frankly Scarlet for the red stripes, Sally Hansen Through the Blue for the blue stripes, and a white Art Deco polish for the white stripes. And all of that is topped with a coat of Sally Hansen Set the Stage gold glitter.
It’s not nearly as good as the original, but I’m happy with it.
My 13 year old couldn’t believe I had done it myself! hahaha!
I hope you have a fabulous Independence Day! Stay safe and have fun!
The Sally Hansen nail pens are great for when you need a quick coat of polish that dries almost immediately. They live fast and die quick, though so you’ll be lucky if they last a whole day without chips. (This one didn’t.)
Pink Diamond is super saturated mix of pink micro glitter and larger pink glitter bits.
The combination of these two is a bit brighter in person. It’s so girly and sparkly and (to me) so JEM!
My husband and I both come from military families. We know military life can be a hard life. We have watched our family members serve and sacrifice for those they love most. Today we honor them and those they served alongside.
While I do not think that something as basic as nail polish could ever compare to our military, it is still a fun way to add creativity to the day.
This is Essie Really Red, topped with Sally Hansen Distressed Denim (05) Crackle, and a layer of Sally Hansen Glass Slipper (150). A little red and blue with white sparkle. Still needs a bit of cleanup…..and the picture doesn’t really do it justice. But I like it.
